Quality Education Fund Dissemination Activities - Effective Learning : An Experimental Study on Incorporating Chinese Culture into Chinese Language for Junior Primary Schools in Hong Kong (12 December 2013)

The Quality Education Fund (QEF) conducts a variety of dissemination activities on a theme basis. To improve students’ Chinese language, School of Chinese of the University of Hong Kong has conducted a QEF project to provide primary school students with short poems and passages from classical writings to memorize and recite in class. By memorizing them, they get the most important thing from classical Chinese –– the thoughts, dialogues, values of the people who wrote them. It’s also useful for students later on because it can help them to improve their spoken Chinese. When they write compositions, classical elements can be included, so it will enhance their writing ability. Please note that the activity will be conducted in Cantonese.

You and your staff are cordially invited to attend the activity to be held on 12 December 2013 . For reservation of seats, please submit your on-line application via the Training Calendar System (TCS) of the Education Bureau (EDB) (http://tcs.edb.gov.hk; Course ID: EI0020130327) or complete and return the enrolment form downloaded from this homepage to the QEF Secretariat by fax at 2186 8183 on or before 5 December 2013 . Seats will be reserved on a first-come-first-served basis . All applicants may visit this homepage for checking the enrolment result from 9 December 2013 onwards . For TCS applicants, they will also be informed of the enrolment result by e-mail via the system. However, the Secretariat will NOT individually inform non-TCS applicants of the enrolment result.

Applicant will receive confirmation email from the organiser of the Learning & Teaching Expo (LTE) 2013 before the event. Applicant should print this email and bring it on the event day for getting entry badge at the registration counter. No entry will be allowed for those who have no entry badges.
