Programme Implementation Details

The QEF invited eligible organisations to submit applications from end 2021 to early 2022. There are two types of schemes under the Programme:

  • Applicants of the Development and Dissemination Scheme should be previous QEF grantees who have received an invitation from the QEF Secretariat for making submission for further development and dissemination of their QEF project under the Scheme;
  • The New Project Scheme is open for application by local tertiary institutions and school sponsoring bodies.

A total of 22 projects are funded under the Programme, among which 4 projects are under the Development and Dissemination Scheme and the remaining 18 projects under the New Project Scheme. Development of all projects commenced at the beginning of the 2023/24 school year. The EDB collaborates with the Hong Kong Productivity Council and the Hong Kong Education City to provide ongoing support and promotional services to the funded projects.

Project deliverables are successively launched for schools’ subscription as planned. Publicly-funded schools can apply for sponsorship from QEF for subscription to the project deliverables. The first batch consisting of 3 deliverables and the second batch of 6 have been launched in June 2025 and January 2026 respectively. While all outstanding project deliverables are estimated to be launched by the end of 2026, taster samples from some of these projects are now available for free trial use by schools.
