The following is issued on behalf of the Quality Education Fund Steering Committee:
The first exhibition to display the projects funded by the Quality Education Fund (QEF) will be held at the Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre, Wan Chai, from tomorrow (Friday) until Monday (March 1).
The Chairman of the QEF Steering Committee, Mr Irving Koo Yee-yin, said today (Thursday): "The Quality Education Fund Projects Expo represents the first of a series of promotional programmes which will publicise to the general community the good work supported under the QEF."
"It also provides an opportunity for the grantees to demonstrate their projects and exchange experience with their peers."
"We would urge students, parents, educators and other stakeholders of Hong Kong's education to visit the Expo which we are confident that they will find the Expo to be both informative and inspiring," said Mr Koo.
The Expo features 99 booths displaying projects, 27 student performances, video shows, a public forum on quality education, 16 seminars on various projects, 23 experience sharing talks and over 100 workshops on information technology.
It covers a wide range of innovative educational activities being undertaken by grantees including the application of information technology in teaching and learning, school-based management, students' all-round development and education research.
The Expo is designed to inform and benefit all especially educationalists seeking to improve the quality of school education.
The Chief Executive, Mr Tung Chee Hwa, will officiate at the opening ceremony tomorrow morning.
Other guests include the Secretary for Education and Manpower, Mr Joseph W P Wong and the Director of Education, Mrs Fanny Law.
Members of the public are welcome to attend and share the initial achievements of QEF funded projects.
