To support the education reform, Education Exposition 2002 (Education in the HKSAR : From Strength to Strength) was held to promote quality education ideas.
To promote teachers’ professional development and exchange, the first Teachers' Professional Experience Sharing Month was held. The Chief Executive's Award for Teaching Excellence was established with funding support from the QEF to show appreciation and recognition to outstanding teachers.
Products of the QEF were first showcased in the Hong Kong Book Fair and the response was overwhelming.
To encourage the educational sector to implement innovative projects, applications can be submitted throughout the year.
To further disseminate practices derived from the QEF projects and strengthen professional development as well as exchanges, the QEF Thematic Network (QTN) was set up.
The QEF participated in the Learning and Teaching Expo organised by Hong Kong Education City (HKEdCity) for the first time to disseminate deliverables of the QEF projects and hold themed seminars.
The Education Bureau and Department of Health collaborated to implement "Joyful@School Campaign" in primary and secondary schools. Through the QEF’s support, students' awareness and understanding of mental health was enhanced.
Orgranised Exposition 2018 at the QEF’s 20th anniversary. Funding programmes and the project outcomes of QTN were highlighted.
Launched Dedicated Funding Programme for Publicly-funded Schools for schools to apply for funding to launch school-based curriculum development and student support measures.
Launched My Pledge to Act Funding Programme to support schools to create a learning environment conducive to cultivating positive values.
Launched Quality Education Fund Thematic Networks – Schools as the continuation of the Professional Development Schools Scheme financed by the Education Development Fund to form a network with participating schools and promote inter-school collaboration and professional exchange.
Launched Quality Education Fund Thematic Networks - Tertiary Institutes, building on the success of the University-School Support Programmes financed by the Education Development Fund to provide schools with diversified support services.
Launched Enhanced “My Pledge to Act” Funding Programme to support schools to promote national education, national security education, as well as media and information literacy education.
Launched e-Learning Funding Programme — Provision of Mobile Computer Devices and Internet Services Support to ensure all students have equal opportunities in accessing e-learning and support the effective implementation of blended mode of teaching and learning at schools.
Launched e-Learning Ancillary Facilities Programme to foster collaboration between sectors, develop and provide schools with ancillary facilities in implementing e-Learning.
Optimised Intellectual Property Rights Policy, allowing schools and tertiary institutions to make adaptations to the contents of the QEF project products for educational and non-commercial purposes without submitting applications to the QEF.
Collaborated with HKEdCity to develop project deliverables into e-Learning materials and upload them to the HKEdCity webpage for teachers, parents and students to purchase or download.
Organised a series of the QEF 25th Anniversary Promotion Activities, including Project Outcomes Video Competition, Folder Design Competition, Pin Design Competition and the QEF 25th Anniversary Exposition to share the valuable experience of the QEF accumulated over the past years and promote the sharing of educational resources.
